Watch out for the stairs, they’re out to get you!
Or at least so I have concluded after slipping on my front stoop and breaking my ankle (bone chips, fortunately, rather than a severe break) back on February 12th. I’m back at work now and hopping about on crutches, which are tedious, but better than nothing.
On the bright side, I’m able to get around well enough not to have to change my conference plans during a busy March.
This weekend I’m heading out to Austin, Texas, for SXSW Interactive to learn from the web wizards and hear the latest technology trends. There’s an amazing programming line up, so I’m expecting to have a lot to report on.
Then at the end of the month I’ll be at the NISO Next Generation Discovery conference. I’ll be presenting on Friday morning on the topic “Changing Patron Expectations & the Discovery Landscape”.
Please say hello if you see me at either of these conferences!

Hi,
This is an interested experiment with blogging, what is the most important thing that you hope to get from this?

Hello Irma, thanks for stopping by.
I think the most important thing that comes to my mind is being able to use our blog as a way to keep in touch with librarians using our products.
Its an easy way for us to get news, ideas and helpful information out to everyone and hear people’s thoughts.

Your presentation at the NISO conference was excellent. Is the powerpoint available for download? Thanks.

Thanks, Bruce! It was a very good conference.
I want to update my slides to cover some of my talking points that weren’t covered by text on screen, so these won’t be up for a couple days but I’m planning to announce them here on our blog when they are available.

Hi Bruce,
The Encore portion of my presentation at NISO is available in an updated form in Innovative’s customer extranet with the other IUG 16 presentations.
My observations on tech trends are available here in Brewing:
