This week marks the 24th Annual Conference of the North American Serials Group (NASIG) (June 3-7, 2009 in Asheville, North Carolina). There have been quite a few changes in the serials industry since this conference first convened nearly a quarter century ago, including the rise of digital content filling an information pipeline once traditionally dominated by print material. While this shift has made electronic resource management (ERM) system integration a top priority for many libraries, it has also created a whole new set of challenges and opportunities for library workflows, staffing and budgets.
This topic will be discussed in a NASIG session called “ERMS Integration Strategies: Opportunity, Challenge or Promise.” As moderator of this session, I will solicit the insights of three panelists in the library and vendor community with first-hand ERM system experience - Karl Maria Fattig (Bowdoin College), Christine Stamison (Swets), and Rebecca Kemp (The University of North Carolina at Wilmington). If you are attending NASIG, please join us for this session on Saturday June 5th between 10:30 a.m. and noon.
We look forward to seeing you!
